I've been using jQuery Mobile Themeroller a lot lately and today I thought of a great way to use it, while creating a new theme that others might be interested in using. If you're in web development and you haven't heard of Twitter Bootstrap then you might be under a rock. It's an excellent framework which can be used for developing standard desktop sites. It has a distinct color palette and feel which I thought made it an ideal candidate for a jQuery Mobile theme.

Intended use is swatch A as primary, with swatches B - F as accent colors on an as needed basis.

Great theme! It looks very clean. So far, the nicest jqm theme I've found.

Thanks!

Imani...

Are you familiar with using jQuery Mobile's data-theme attribute? To get another color, you need to add data-theme="a-f".

Nice work, Andy!

Bootstrap's responsive design is awesome for content consumption, but it sucks from an app dev viewpoint in comparison to JQM.

Do you have more plans to continue integrating the look and feel of Bootstrap into JQM?

John...

I hadn't considered it, but I suppose it's possible. Are there any components you'd be interested in?

I would definitely like to incorporate more of the general feel of Bootstrap into JQM in a manner similar to how MS just showcased the new JQM Metro theme.

Off the cuff, I'd have to say alerts, labels, badges, the fixed responsive bar (w/ dropdown) and maybe a few others would help.

Not to mention using FontAwesome as the font and not the sprite sheet (for color swapping)

Whoa, I really need to change my gravatar!

John V...

Those are good ideas. It wouldn't be hard to knock those things out. I'll make a note of that and look at expanding the theme.
