openExchangeRateCFC! Never worry about exchange rates again

A wrapper for the Open Exchange Rate project has been on my radar for a while now. I saw someone post about it a few months back and was instantly intrigued. Anyone who's ever tried to get exchange rates knows what a hassle it is. This poject aims to make it easier to find rates for different currencies. You can check out the project and download it on the openExchangeRateCFC project page.

Yeah, I'd never heard of it until a few months back. I really like the concept. There are some potential downsides to it of course...like if they decide to stop running the service. Free isn't always better you know?

Hey Paul... Just wanted to let you know that I added a new method to the openExchangeRateCFC. You can know convert currencies in addition to getting their values.

very nice but you need to be careful about currency conversion as banks/whatever usually have different buying & selling rates as well as sometimes having different rates based on the amount of money being converted (plus any other set of nefarious schemes to make money). maybe some weasel words specifically for conversion that makes this obvious to potential users? i mean besides the stuff coming from that project.

Good point. I'll have to consider that.
