I'm now an iPhone owner!

After 2 years of patience, and envy, and longing, I'm now an iPhone owner. I've been monitoring blogs, and forums, and Twitter and I have a good array of apps that I'd like to try, but now I'm asking you, my friends, and readers to suggest other apps for me to try. This post is short, but I hope for lots of comments. Let me have it!
i like the Wikipanion app for searching wikipedia. Often, I'll be out with the kids and we'll see something and I'll search more info on wikipedia, but it's a pain on the website. Wikipanion makes it nicer. I dig Trace and tic tac toe for games with my 6-yo daughter. Twitterfon for twitter; Google Mobile App for speak-n-search googlin'. HandyLevel b/c it impresses my dad. And I like the Movies app for finding out what new releases are out on DVD if I'm thinking of getting a movie from a brick-n-mortar joint. the "6001 Crazy Facts Free" app is fun if you have kids, too.
Hey Andy: Congrats on the new arrival! Here's some of what I've got installed: * Remote - control your desktop iTunes from your iPhone * Tweetie - twitter app * Shazam - a must have, if only for the "wow" factor * SnapTell - see Shazam * Kindle - might not be as easy to read a book on the iphone as a real Kindle, but this is a nice, cheaper alternative * AroundMe - uses your location to determine various points of interest nearby * vlingo - voice control for the iphone. Dial. Search the web. Search maps. Very cool. * Koi Pond - kind of pointless, but good for the "wow" factor. Relaxing to watch. * Ocarina - this is the app that made my wife say, "I want one!" * DressChica - based on a Sprout tv show... my daughters like it. Yours might too.
egad... line breaks got eaten :(
Thanks guys. keep 'em coming! I've never heard of half these.
As you know, I just bought my iPhone a few weeks ago. A lot of the apps I've been using are already listed. However, the one game I've been really addicted to is Unblock Me (Free). It's a puzzle game and you can usually solve each level in just seconds. I'm on level 475 of Relax Mode--and this is the free version! If you play golf, the ViewTi GPS application is pretty good and has tons and tons of courses. Lastly, if you need RDP support, I highly recommend Jaadu RDP. I've basically only toyed around with is (since I haven't had an actually *need* to remote desktop one of our servers,) but it's far superior to the RDP client for Windows Mobile. I love how the screen acts as a touch pad for moving the cursor--that may sound weird, but its very intuitive and works very well. It just works like you'd expect.
I've really been enjoying FLIXTER - An app for looking up movie times and buying tickets. I love movies, so this is a really great one for me. Other than that, I don't have many apps. Maybe I'll pick a few from this blog post as well :)
My short list: Remote (from Apple) for controlling my AppleTV via wi-fi, Evernote, Flight Control, Texas Hold'em, OmniFocus, Shazam, 1Password, iPod (music, podcasts, Audible.com books), Tweetie, Voice Memos, The Weather Channel, Brightkite, and NetNewsWire.
Twitterrific - my favorite twitter app iPint - small game but more important, drink a beer from your iPhone Tap Tap Revenge - Guitar Hero like game Facebook - the official app to browse you Facebook Beat Tapper - useful for musicians to find out the bpm of the song you play Lightsaber - fight like a Jedi iTie - how to knot your tie... FC - simulate a fake call if you want to leave a meeting CF_REF - CF documentation on your iPhone
Just came across this from TUAW's twitter acct. Might be of some interest. http://www.techdigest.tv/2009/07/the_101_best_ip.html (The 101 best iPhone apps in the world today)
AppSniper is good for finding apps that are free for a brief period of time (or on sale). I prefer TwitterFon for Twitter. I've been travelling recently and have found Urban Spoon useful. I also use an app for my local transit system - allows me to find the closest bus stop and tells me when the next bus is coming!
My boyfriend loves it and he wants to buy it necessarily...I do not know how to talk him out of it! ;)
